I have to say that I appreciate everyone in my life but when I stopped to think about this, my dear friend Pauline came to mind. Pauline and her husband Bill have been our friends for a few years now, and while the age gap is quite extreme for some people, we are truly good friends. Pauline and I share similar childhoods which aren't too pleasant, but she has been my mentor and has shown me that we are truly more than our circumstances. Pauline is a woman of integrity and I admire her for that. She goes above and beyond for nearly anyone but never lets anyone overstep their boundaries with her. She has, in some ways, also become a pseudo mom to me. When I'm feeling down or ill, I can always count on Pauline to cheer me up or offer to watch my children. One would never guess that she was in her 70s but she certainly doesn't let that stop her from walking miles everyday, enjoying yoga, working, or spoiling my kids. Pauline, you are definitely most appreciated and I love you!

Wow..... Who do I appreciate? There are so many people, but when I really think who has given me so much joy and made my life worth living... it's my son. I remember being so scared when I found out I was pregnant. I didn't want his life to be like mine. So I decided to change. I had to be strong, for him. I had to make the right choices, for him. I had to excel in school and my career, for him. He made me the woman I am today and all he has ever asked for is to be loved. For that, I appreciate him more than words can say.

The person I appreciate is my husband. He came along when I least expected it. Even though we are from very different backgrounds, we are still going strong after 17 years. When we married, he knew I was not the best cook or housekeeper so he took over the cooking duties. Over the years with the addition of two kids, he does laundry, (the best folder ever), cleans the bathrooms, and still buys me mother’s day gifts way beyond our means. I am very lucky to have found someone who understands my lack of enthusiasm with housekeeping and always has the energy to pitch in when I don’t.
